Another boring Kalvin Phillips update…

Kalvin-Phillips-Tottenham-Spurs

Kalvin Phillips’ name has been going around so much that I am getting heavily invested in a potential deal that can bring him to Tottenham.

So, lets clear the basics first – Kalvin Phillips got to Manchester City with high hopes which came trembling down as he found it difficult to get into Pep Guardiola’s squad, the man has hearts though – he stuck with being there to fight it out but well.. he is still stuck. Now he, atleast reportedly, wants to move away and as per reports Tottenham are interested in him.

Mind my short-memory, but I think he was linked with a move to Tottenham back in the summer as well as Ange was looking to get rid of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg. The Danish midfielder had all hearts set on a move to Atletico Madrid which would eventually make space for Kalvin to come to play under the mighty Ange. Ofcource, nothing materialised – which is why we are here speaking about him still…

So, coming to today. Tottenham are interested in signing Kalvin Phillips, so are out apparent noisy-neighbours Arsenal. Mikel may have advantage because of his whole bro-mance thing with Pep. But Kalvin Phillips, in my opinion, will still be on the sidelines if he moves to the wrong side of North London. Only possible choice… Tottenham Hotspur. That’d give me a good night’s sleep, but someone sitting across the oceans in the middle-east couldn’t take that and so in comes Newcastle United.

According to Rudy Galetti, Eddie Howe & his Newcastle are trying to sign Kalvin Phillips. He wrote that while Tottenham are monitoring the whole situation – the main priority is to bring in a striker in January, as of now.

Okay, let me get one thing straight – we are signing a midfielder in January, be it permanently or on loan, be it Phillips or someone else. There is AFCONs and we need to acknowledge that our midfield options are somewhat limited. When you look at the players beyond our starting midfielders, we see a lack of depth.

And for Kalvin Phillips, he’s twenty-eight – so I will not be regretting if Newcastle United sign him, till we sign someone as admirable and maybe a bit young. If we get him, it will be mega – don’t get me wrong.
