A report from Sport Bild suggests that Tottenham Hotspur are very much interested in bringing Denis Zakaria. Zakaria is a highly rated defensive midfielder who plays for the Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach.

He caught a lot of eyes ever since his move to Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer of 2017. He joined the German club from Young Boys for a reported fee of €10 million. The 24-year-old has appeared 109 times across all competitions for Gladbach.

Denis Zakaria has been a crucial player in the squad during the last couple of seasons. His height, speed, and tackling ability are one of the most strong points regarding his skillset. He is also very good on the ball. Denis Zakaria played 25 matches in the Bundesliga last season.

However, he is growing frustrated at the German club and he wants to desperately leave. Borussia Monchengladbach wants him to stay and they have tried everything to convince him but the Switzerland International has decided that he wants to pursue a new project.

Nuno Espirito Santo wants to add a defensive midfielder to his squad, and it was him that suggested the club management move for Denis Zakaria. Many clubs from Bundesliga as well as Premier League are highly interested in him. Among the few names are the North London rivals, Arsenal. They too are keen to make move for him and have held an interest in him since the start of this transfer window. Everton are also keen to bring him to Goodison Park.

Denis Zakaria was once valued at £43 million by Borussia Monchengladbach, but with his contract running out soon and no serious interest from any club anywhere near that value – the Switzerland International is available for only £17 million now.
