Oliver Skipp has left Tottenham Hotspur to join Norwich City on a season-long loan for the 2020/21 campaign.

Having had limited appearances at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the midfielder feels a move to the Carrow Road is the best option now.

And with Norwich set to restart a fresh journey in the Sky Bet Championship, the addition of Skipp is ideal for Daniel Farke’s team.

The youngster signed a new three-year deal at Spurs in July having come through the club’s youth system.

“I’m delighted to sign for Norwich. It’s a club that’s looking to go places,” the 19-year-old told the club’s official site.

“This season is a big one for the club and we’ll be looking to get back into the Premier League.

“I spoke to Max Aarons before coming and he only said positive things about the club. Knowing a few of the boys will help me settle in, so I’m really looking forward to getting started.

“I haven’t played as much football as I’d want but this is a massive opportunity and hopefully I’ll show the fans that I’m capable of taking it.”

The teenager made a total of 11 appearances for Jose Mourinho’s side during the 2019/20 campaign and was given a start against the Canaries when the Norwich knocked Tottenham out of the FA Cup in March.

Norwich are prepared to bounce back into the Premier League after next season and are already working on a number of deals to ensure their return.

The club are interested in Chelsea’s Ethan Ampadu and have also identified Burnley’s Ben Gibson as a possible transfer target this summer.

Having finished bottom of the Premier League table last season, Norwich are likely to see some of their positive performers depart the Carrow Road this summer and are happy to listen to offers for Emi Buendia, Moritz Leitner, Tom Trybull and Josip Drmic.
