Bazoumana-Toure

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly monitoring teenage star Bazoumana Touré, who plays for Hammarby in the Swedish top division Allsvenskan.

The 18-year-old winger joined Hammarby from Ivorian club ASEC Mimosas earlier this year for just £370,000. Toure has proved an absolute bargain, inspiring the club to second spot in the league. In his 21 league appearances, the Ivory Coast youth international has netted nine times and assisted four times.

His impressive performances are attracting much attention, with a host of Premier League clubs monitoring his progress. Manchester United, Arsenal, West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Brighton and Hove Albion are all said to be interested in signing Toure. In Hammarby’s most recent league fixture against Sirius, scouts from multiple clubs were said to be present to watch Toure play. The teenager certainly did not disappoint, scoring twice in a 3-0 away win for Hammarby.

Hammarby’s sporting director, Mikael Hjelmberg, is aware of the interest being shown in Toure. He recently said: “There are a lot of clubs coming to the match against Hacken. We need to plan for a future without him. Then if it happens this winter, next summer or even further than that – I don’t think so, we’ll see. But the longer we get to keep him, the better.”

Toure is an excellent dribbler, and his pace makes him a nightmare on the wing. The youngster has also shown an eye for goal. The Ivorian winger is reportedly available for just £5 million, a bargain for a player of his potential. With Tottenham reportedly set not to make Timo Werner’s loan move permanent, Spurs will be looking for a new winger. Buying Toure may prove to be a smart move. If given the right environment to develop, Tottenham could very well have a new superstar in their ranks.

Hammarby manager Kim Hellberg believes Toure can be a star: “I think he can play at the highest level possible. I don’t see why he shouldn’t have the chance to get there. There have been many players who have had the opportunity to get there but have not taken that route.”
