Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing young Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo.
After breaking into the first team the 19-year-old has been in exceptional form scoring 6 and assisting 2 in 26 appearances for the club. The player has already established his reputation as one of the brightest young talents in Europe and is reportedly wanted by the likes of Chelsea, Juventus and Manchester City.
Tottenham are looking to sell midfielders Wanyama & Aurier and also fear losing star midfielder Eriksen to Real Madrid. Both Wanyama and Aurier have struggled with injuries throughout the season and fan favourite Moussa Dembele departed for China in January. Winks and Sissoko are the only midfield options left in the team and the club is in desperate need to add more depth in their midfield.
Zaniolo has even been called up to the senior Italian national team, earning two caps in EURO 2020 qualifiers this season.
Spurs signed Lamela from Roma for £30m back in 2013 and may look to break that record once again and bring the talented youngster to the Lillywhites.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino has always put his faith in young players and Zaniolo could just be the player Spurs need after the rise of Harry Winks. At 19 the player could prove to be an investment for the long term and fill in the shoes of Dembele or Eriksen if the latter decides to leave this summer.
