Tottenham Hotspur are seeking new reinforcements in the squad under the new manager Nuno Espirito Santo. The club is close to selling some of its players while it is close to signing some.
Spurs are close to securing two deals. Cristian Romero of Atalanta and Takehiro Tomiyasu of Bologna are both close to joining the North London club. When Spurs complete those signings they would have sought their backline problem. Even a new goalkeeper has already been brought in this summer in the form of Pierluigi Gollini.
The club management is now focusing on strengthening the attack. Spurs like their North London rivals Arsenal have the problem of creativity but not on the scale of similarity with Arsenal. Tottenham Hotspur are currently looking to sign a striker, winger, and creative midfielder.
According to the reports from Fichajes, Spurs are interested in signing the Real Madrid player Marco Asensio. The 25-year-old is not looked at by the new manager Carlo Ancelotti. The manager is seeking to clear out nonperforming players and bring new additions to the club. Marco Asensio has been quite inconsistent in the last few seasons. Once regarded as a top-notch talent in Spain, Asensio is now struggling to find the form.
Marco Asensio featured in 35 games for Real Madrid in La Liga last season but he could find the back of the net only 5 times. Due to his bad form, he could be made available by Real Madrid in the transfer market. Spurs are keen to sign him. He can play as an attacking midfielder as well as a winger in the team.
Arsenal and Liverpool are also keen to sign him with a host of Spanish clubs already trying to convince Asensio. The player who was once touted by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez as untouchable is available for €50 million. Real Madrid could lower their asking price in negotiations since there is nothing worth €50 million in Asensio.
