According to Gianluca di Marzio, the Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen will undergo a medical test at Inter tomorrow.
The Danish international has long been linked with a move away from Spurs but Inter was never on the list. However, Conte’s interest on the midfielder and his adamance on bringing glory back to Milan has made Eriksen travel Italy.
Inter will pay €20 million plus bonuses to the midfielder with 5% of the fees to be paid in solidarity payments. Further, Inter have agreed to bear all costs of future friendly matches to be played between the two teams.
Barcelona were also in the picture until Thursday when they made an enquiry about the 28-year-old but failed to follow-up with an offer.
The rumours have been affirmed by Inter’s chief itself.
Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta said: “You all know that we are negotiating with Tottenham. I am optimistic and I hope everything can be concluded quickly because the market closes on Friday and we hope to conclude the negotiations in the next few days.”
Eriksen leaves Spurs in high spirits after making a whopping 305 appearances for the Londoners which comprised 69 match-winning goals and 89 superfluid assists.
Eriksen’s six-and-a-half year tenure will finally end after a successful medical at Inter on Monday. The Danish international has already achieved a lot more than expected of him and move to new country will surely weather him with new challenges.
Sad ending to his Spurs career but Christian Eriksen will perhaps go down as Tottenham’s greatest midfielder in the Premier League era.
