It has been the same old performance in the transfer window for Tottenham Hotspur. No major signings are yet made and it’s almost mid July. However, the club has focused on extending contracts with extensions done with Harry Kane, Davinson Sanchez and manager Mauricio Pochettino.
The latest addition in the list of contract extension could be Argentine Erik Lamela. Lamela was signed in August 2013 after Bale’s departure to Real Madrid. Known for his set piece taking abilities and accurate crosses from the wing, Lamela has been a fan favorite and has always been impactful whenever he has stepped on the field. He was the top assist provider in the League Cup 2016-17 season.
The club would be interested in keeping the 26 year old winger who is now on of the longest serving player in the current team, a contract extension wont be a surprise. However, the tenure of contract maybe a question whether it is extended till 2021 or 2022.
Nevertheless, the fans will be hoping to see Lamela in the whites for the 2018-19 season and will be expecting the extension deal to be finalised soon.
