Manchester United are set to rival Tottenham in the pursuit of Victor Froholdt, with both Premier League sides eyeing the FC Porto starlet as a smart addition for the January transfer window.
The 19-year-old Danish midfielder has been on the radar of Europe’s top clubs following a breakout spell at Porto. According to TeamTalk, Froholdt is now drawing attention from both United and Spurs, with the race heating up ahead of January.

Porto are under no pressure to sell. Froholdt is tied down until 2030, but his technical quality, defensive intelligence, and passing range have made him one of the hottest young midfielders in Europe. At 19, he’s already commanding attention from clubs that normally target more established names.
United’s interest in midfielders like Adam Wharton and Carlos Baleba has hit financial and availability walls, with both seen as nine-figure summer targets. With Dortmund unwilling to sell Jobe Bellingham mid-season, the Red Devils are turning their attention toward more attainable profiles and Froholdt fits that bill.
Tottenham continuing youth-focused recruitment
Spurs boss Thomas Frank remains focused on long-term planning, and Froholdt would tick all the right boxes. A high-ceiling profile, he’d join a growing list of U23 targets meant to solidify Tottenham’s squad for the next generation.
