Victor Nelsson was subject to a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur following multiple speculations linking him with a move to N17 — although nothing materialised…
Spurs were accompanied by Arsenal in a race to his signatures, although with both North London clubs agreeing against signing him, he had his heart then set on a move to Sevilla.
But Galatasaray chose to block his move from conclusion.
Here is Victoria Nelsson explaining his failed move to Sevilla to Tipsbladet: “It was very close with Sevilla. The flight was booked, but [the move] did not materialise.
“I think that Galatasaray blocked the transfer. It’s no secret. They didn’t find the offer good enough.
“There has been interest and offers from clubs that I really want to join. I would have liked to have moved.”
There is said to be a release clause in his contract with Gala, and in order to secure a move away from Turkey – Nelsson also chose not to renew his contract with Galatasaray.
“I have had some talks with them,” Nelsson continued.
“I informed them after the last international break that I don’t want to extend my contract. I have three years left on my contract and I just can’t see myself extending another year.”
