During the January transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur was reported to be seriously interested in Real Madrid defender Eder Militao.

However, a move for the player in the winter window was thrown into the doubt after the Spanish club waved away the opportunity to move on the player.

The Los Blancos decision was purely based on the fact that they had very few options available due to injuries.

Spurs were also looking to sell Columbia international Davison Sanchez during the mid-season window. Ajax were keen on resigning the centre-back.

Sanchez has been a shadow of himself this campaign with manager Jose Mourinho opting for the partnership of Joe Rodon, Eric Dier and sometimes Toby Alderwereild.

A move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has not been ruled for the former Ajax man but his departure could also pave way for the North London side to pursue a transfer for Brazil international Militao.

The former Porto man is also said to be on the shortlist of Liverpool, Paris Saint Germain and Bayern Munich.
