Kane fails to show up at training ground sparking transfer rumours

Kane-AWOL

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane was due to report at the training ground today. He was called for routine tests including the COVID-19 test but the England International did not show up today.

This has sparked rumours of him leaving Tottenham Hotspur. Some reports even claim that Kane going on a strike to leave the club. He is reportedly keen on joining Manchester City this summer. The Citizens have been tracking him from the beginning of the summer transfer window itself. However, the 28-year-old player was busy representing his national team in the Euro 2020 tournament.

Manchester City even bid a whopping £100 million bid for Harry Kane but the North London club rejected the bid outrightly. Pep Guardiola even went as far as saying that Manchester City is under financial strain and they cannot make such ludicrous bids for anyone.

But after a month or so Manchester City are closing in on the transfer of Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish for a reported £100 million. They are also keen to bring Harry Kane. While Harry Kane is also willing to go.

The whole situation could blow up if the management of Tottenham Hotspur does not sort it out soon enough. The new manager Nuno Espirito Santo and the director of football Fabio Paratici constantly reiterated that Harry Kane would stay but the whole picture is different right now. Harry Kane might force his way out of the club. He might even not.

Spurs’ eventuality should certainly start looking for a striker. Reports a couple of weeks earlier suggested that Spurs were actively looking to bring Southampton striker Danny Ings. He even rejected a new contract at Southampton that would have made him the club’s highest earner in history but nothing has been moving ever since the rumours. Spurs has to quickly move for a new striker otherwise they could start the new season in a very awkward position.
