Looks like Hugo Lloris contract to be terminated…

Getting through the fact that Hugo Lloris and his time between the sticks for Tottenham is now done, there are reports suggesting that the club are contemplating terminating his contract. This comes following the 36-year-old unable to secure a move away to another club before the transfer deadline yesterday.

On paper there were several potential opportunities that had emerged for Lloris in the final hours of the transfer window – he was offered a late move to Premier League rivals Newcastle United and was also approached by Nice after they terminated Kasper Schmeichel’s contract. However, despite these options, Lloris was unable to reach an agreement on terms, resulting in him remaining with Spurs.

This is complicated by the fact that Lloris has found himself frozen out of the first team by Ange Postecoglou as Guglielmo Vicario looks good donning their goalkeeping gloves. This shift in the pecking order has put the French World Cup winner in an uncomfortable position within the club.

Hugo Lloris has been at Tottenham for many years now, and he still has a year remaining on his contract. In the summer transfer window, he had been given the go-ahead by Levy & Co. to explore opportunities beyond N17. However, with the deadline now passed it appears that Tottenham is considering alternative options – including the possibility of paying off Lloris’s contract and allow him to leave the club as a free agent.
