Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen’s future at the club has been uncertain since the player refused to sign a new contract with the club last summer.
The Dane international has established himself as one of the best players in the Spurs dressing room. The player has been linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid who have made the player their priority signing this summer.
According to the Mirror “The Dane wants the club to match the £200,000 they’re paying for striker Harry Kane.”
Christian Eriksen earns around £80k-per-week which is very less compared to the talent that he posses. Eriksen earns less than Heung-min Son who earns £140k-per-week while the likes of Jan Vertonghen, Dele Alli and Hugo Lloris are all estimated to be on £100k-per-week.
The midfielder’s contract is set to expire next summer and the club will be keen to tie him down to a new contract this summer or lose him for free next summer.
Real Madrid are willing to pay hefty sum for Eriksen as well as to Eriksen, and if money is the problem we can soon expect an announcement from the club.
Daniel Levy recently confirmed hat Spurs won’t sit back if anything comes to money, confirming Tottenham will have a huge summer. This also gives hopes to the fans that he could sign a new contract and stay for more years.
Tottenham have booked their place in the Semifinals of the Champions League and will face Eredivisie side Ajax.
