Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma as a potential long-term heir for the 33 year-old Spurs captain Hugo Lloris.

According to Todofichajes, Spurs have set their sights on the Italy international, who is also believed to be a target for French side Paris Saint-Germain as well.

After making his debut at the age of 16, the Italian No.1 goalkeeper has represented the Serie A giants on 219 occasions in all competitions, including 16 appearances during the 2020-21 campaign.

As it stands, the Italian would be free to negotiate a contract with clubs at the start of 2021, although Milan are still thought to be confident of convincing him to sign a fresh deal. While France’s World Cup winning captain Lloris has just 18 months left to run on his current contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and will turn Thirty-Four this month.

The Lilywhites do have Paulo Gazzaniga, who impressed during Lloris’ injury last season but it remains unclear whether Mourinho trusts him to become number one.
