Why Real Madrid WON’T approach for Christian Eriksen?

Amid the rumors of Real Madrid being after Christian Eriksen, the US-based media firm ESPN has cleared the air by reporting that no club has made an approach for the Spurs midfielder recently.

Earlier a Spanish outlet had claimed that the Spanish giants have shown their interest in 26 years old Eriksen as they fancy him as a longtime replacement for ageing Luka Modric. However, Spurs director Daniel Lewy, who is supposed to be unwilling to sell the midfielder, has put a condition in which he has asked for an enormous amount of €250 million as the fee that needs to be paid by anyone who wants to sign him. And thus there is no chance that Real will now try to make a move for Eriksen, therefore, giving an end to all the speculations.

Eriksen has 18 months left in his contract with Spurs and is yet to sign a new deal. However, Mauricio Pochettino looked optimistic but not confident over the question upon the midfielder’s future with the club and stated,

“He knows and we know what we’re doing and of course we’re working hard.”

He added, “The club’s working to try to take the best decisions. Christian is going to take I think the decision that is best for him.

“We’re not worried — in football, I’m never worried — but I prefer that he’s going to sign the new contract and spend a long time with Tottenham. It will be fantastic.”
