Spurs are preparing a £8.6 million bid for Domingos Duarte

Tottenham Hotspur are still looking to strengthen their backline after signing Cristian Romero. Nuno Espirito Santo still wants to bring a defender and he is pushing the club management for the same before the window ends.

The North London club is now being linked with Granada defender Domingos Duarte. According to IDEAL, Spurs are preparing an £8.6 million bid for Domingos Duarte.

The Portuguese International started his football career by joining the academy of Sporting Lisbon in 2011. He came through the ranks and played for the B team. Duarte made 54 appearances for them before moving out for consistent loan spells to other clubs. He was tracked by many Spanish and Italian clubs but he eventually moved to Granada in 2019.

Domingos Duarte made a move to Granada for €3 million by signing a four-year deal with them. Since then he has been consistently starting for the La Liga club. He has so far made 82 appearances in all competitions since joining, while he featured in 29 games for Granada in La Liga last season.

The 26-year-old has a release clause of £25.6 million in his contract and Tottenham Hotspur will need to pay that if they want to get their man. Certainly, the £8 million bid by the North London club is just for the talks to begin. This move could also signal that Tottenham could have ended their pursuit of Kurt Zouma.

Tottenham Hotspur were reportedly interested in the Frenchman but talks have not been going any further since the interest. And perhaps with the time being just limited in the transfer window, Spurs have made the decision to make a move for their other target.
