Tottenham Hotspur send South Korean winger on Championship loan

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed to a second Championship loan for Yang Min-hyeok. The South Korean youngster will join Portsmouth after arriving in North London just months ago. This move follows Spurs’ pre-season tour and friendly against Bayern Munich. Heung-Min Son offered Yang advice before the loan was finalized.

Tottenham have sanctioned a second loan spell for South Korean starlet Yang Min-hyeok. The youngster is set for another stint in the Championship just months after arriving in North London. Tottenham Hotspur recently returned from their pre-season tour in Asia.

One of the youngsters who joined Tottenham during the winter window last season is close to securing a loan move for the second time in his Spurs career.

Chris Wise of BBC Sport reports that Tottenham have agreed on a loan deal with Portsmouth for Korean youngster Yang. A return to the Championship with Portsmouth should be completed soon for the winger. He is also capable of playing down the middle.

The 19-year-old teenager only joined Tottenham last season in January from K League side Gangwon FC. He was then loaned a few days later to second division side QPR. During that loan, the teenager managed two goals and an assist in 14 Championship games. It was his first spell in English football.

Heung-Min Son’s advice to Yang Min-hyeok

Heung-Min Son recently gave Yang some parting words of advice. This occurred before swapping Tottenham for LAFC. He said: “I’m very proud to see Yang fight for a position in the squad. As for tips, I’d like to see Yang experience things on the field and not think too much or too hard. Just focus on what’s in front of him.”

Yang Min-Hyeok would now join several other Tottenham youngsters out on loan. These include Mikey Moore, who has joined Scottish side Rangers. Ashley Phillips also secured another loan to the Championship, once again joining Stoke City. Meanwhile, Devine and Lankshear have also been loaned out. Luka Vuskovic continues to attract interest from several sides across Europe.

A move to the Championship is sure to benefit Yang. He is still getting used to the demands of English football after joining just six months ago.
